Michelin held its press conference with Nick Shorrock, Michelin Competition Director, Serge Grisin, head of four-wheel competition for Michelin, Romain Dumas of Audi Sport Team Joest and Giancarlo Fisichella of AF Corse Ferrari.
Additionally, the winning Mazda 787B from 1991 made a brief appearance on track with its rotary-powered car and actor and burgeoning racer Patrick Dempsey behind the wheel. Doug Fehan, Corvette Racing program manager, also talked about the team at Le Mans and the relationship between Corvette and Michelin. Photos from Rick Dole are below:
24 HOURS OF LE MANS THURSDAY ACO PRESS CONFERENCE
The annual ACO Press Conference held Thursday morning had two major stories. The first was the official announcement of the FIA World Endurance Championship, which will have the ACO as the series promoter, and the second was the news Highcroft Racing will run a DeltaWing, unclassified, as the 56th car in 2012. Known as “Project 56,” the DeltaWing features Dan Gurney building the car, chief designer Ben Bowlby, Duncan Dayton running the team and Don Panoz as a special advisor.

24 HOURS OF LE MANS MONDAY SCRUTINEERING
A full day of scrutineering in downtown Le Mans Monday afternoon completed the technical inspection for all 56 cars entered for the 2011 24-hour endurance classic. Heavy hitters Audi and Peugeot both went through Monday, as did all four American Le Mans Series teams (Corvette, Flying Lizard Porsche, Robertson Ford and Level 5) entered.

Teams and drivers have began to unpack and go through scrutineering, or technical inspection, for this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans. Sunday is the first of two days of scrutineering, with a full day scheduled for Monday.
